Happy Dancing in the Dentist's Chair

Note to self:  Do not hold
handbag with teeth.
Handbag will win!!!
I am by nature a very happy person.  I love to laugh and be silly.  I don't take a lot of things in life too seriously and roll with the proverbial punches.  It's been the most difficult thing for me to walk around without smiling.  As most of you know, a few days ago in an effort to hold my purse with my teeth in a bathroom stall, I loosened and pulled out the cap on my front tooth.  Go ahead - laugh.  That handbag did not touch the ground!

I went in to get things all fixed up again.  I let my dentist know that I have some serious smiling time to make up for and he thought that was a very good idea.  I think I really made his day when he got finished.  I started doing my happy dance while I was still sitting in the chair!  He just sort of stood there and shook his head, rolled his eyes and laughed.

He also made a comment about the health of my gums and asked if I had been doing anything differently in my routine.  I mentioned that I had started incorporating oil pulling as part of my routine and he seemed genuinely impressed that my gums were no longer red, swollen, tender or bleeding.  They are now pink and healthy and tough.  He also mentioned that my teeth seemed whiter than they were the last time - which I also attribute to the oil pulling.  No, I don't know why it works.  I don't care why it works.  I just know that it does work - and I'm going to keep doing it.

Since I am back to "normal" (stop laughing) and smiling again, I feel so much better!  The comments by my dentist also encouraged me to stay on an alkaline diet and keep up my daily routine.  I love it when I go see my dentist and he notices something and gives me a thumbs-up about it!

Today as I left the dentist's office, he gave me the "go and prosper" sign (from Spock in Star Trek) and said, "Go brush, floss, oil pull and prosper!"

Funny guy - I like him!

This is such a cute skit!
